Introductory Session Review
Today the rest of the creative digital media class and I were introduced to
the basic fundamentals of what we will be doing the rest of the first year and then proceeded to
watch and analyse different styles of animation used in various media from TV
to films. The majority of the animation styles I recognised back from
what I learned and saw in my college Computer Games Design course, however, there were a few that was new to me which was good to see. Though the task where
we had to draw a small flipbook animation based on a keyword given could have
gone better, since I planned to make that small ball on the top page shift and
stretch into an oval-shaped screaming character to express their fear although
each frame took far too long it is a nice reminder in a way to know just how
much a pain hand-drawn and animation, in general, can be.
Henceforth, it is pleasing to know that this subject will be assessed
through the completion of tasks which is an excellent way for us to slowly get
all of the introductory work done and dusted. Also, those people who were expected
to show up for the first lesson on Tuesday finally showed up today in the class.
It will be interesting to how this year and this module progress this should
expand my knowledge and refine my basic skills in animation.
